Default Need Lease Home in Birmingham Area for Professionals

We are possibly looking at relocating to the Birmingham area with the position actually being in Bessemer. We are a professional couple, non smokers, no children or pets, and looking for a nice area to lease a ranch level home for a minimum of 12-24 months. Both neat and organized and would treat the property as if we owned it. (Depending upon the area we wold also entertain purchasing after getting better acquainted with the area) We would like it to have 3 bedrooms and at least 2 bathrooms with a 2 car garage. We would like the price range to be under $1500.00 monthly. Pictures of any potential homes would be greatly appreciated as we are flying down to look at the area within the next few weeks. While not sure of what is close to the work area (Bessemer) we have been searching the internet and have looked at Helena and a few other communities close to there. If you have anything that would match our needs please contact us, or if you have any ideas on what areas would offer the best place for a couple like us to be comfortable in we would appreciate your input. While we enjoy living near a big city, we are comfortable in a smaller area setting. This could possibly happen quickly, and we are making our plans as we speak.
Thanks

Hueytown and McCalla may be your best bets. The commute from Helena may be somewhat easier than commuting from Birmingham, but I believe most will agree that Helena's infrastructure is approaching overload. West of Bessemer off I-459 and I-59 may offer some opportunities as well. I lived in Hueytown in the 70s and liked it, but that was where family was at the time--things could have changed. Good luck.

I agree on Hueytown and would also suggest Pleasant Grove. I would avoid Bessemer itself. I once leased a theatre there and found out how impoverished the area really is. Even charging only a dollar, business was good on the week the social security checks arrived and dead the rest of the month.
