She has it listed at 179,500, but everyone involved agreed that the house was way over-priced. The 10 acres made it a very good deal for us,though. We really wanted that flat 10 acres.

It's a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, 1000 square foot house built in 1940, with add- ons. The front corner is rotten and far off the foundation, the kitchen is jacked up by multiple jacks.

We offered 153,000 because we can only pay 155,000 total, and we have to leave room for the survey, half the title, etc.

She said 155,000 firm. Then we could pay the other on top of that totaling 157,000,but we don't have it to give. We aren't going to go borrow $2000, so we withdrew the offer.

Clare

Thanks. We have four sons and we've always tried to teach them that old fashioned word.

With the exception of our mortgage, my wife and I have always been a cash and carry couple which is why we get so upset with all these bail-outs. People got themselves in this mess, so why should people like my wife and I and Clareb and other responsible people have to pay the price?

I don't like it ,either ,that we have to pay financially for other people's greed, but I think they are paying a bigger price than they realize for living that lifestyle. Their relationships are a tesimony to the foolsihness of materialism.

Valuing children instead of money, stuff, and a title, blesses abundantly.

I'm just grateful that I spent T-I-M-E on the only treasures that mattered. I'd give up any amount of money for that.
And I did choose to give it up...Good trade!

I don't like corporate bailouts, but if they were to issue personal bailouts to individuals (all individuals equally), I think that would be a fine idea.
