According to someone I know who knows the people that owned Ralph and Kackoos, the property will not be sold any time soon. They are holding onto the property for tax purposes, and are holding out to see if a major developer offers to purchase the building and land.

I think it's a wonderful idea, because I'm 22 and I love to have fun!!! Chuck E Cheese's is too young, so are Pump it Up, and Trussville PlayStation. I think we need a Dave and Buster's or a Jilian's. Who knows it could be the best thing ever!! ^_^

I was thinking the other day that it would be awesome to have a 24 hr Planet Smoothie right next to a 24 hr gym. I know it would increase membership at local gyms and the Smoothie Shop would make lots of money; seeing as though so many people are trying to live healthier lives. A great place would be on 119 in Front of Rite-Aid where the grocery store used to be. There is already a 24 hr gym there. Think about it. ^_^

That and a bar and club. Basically, something for everybody (of age).

Dave and Busters is just going to be too expensive to make a profit consistently here in Birmingham. There is just not enough expendable income, IMO, to attract the kind of crowd they want. First time gas jumps to 4.00 again, they'd be upside down. People spend their money on
1- Their car/truck/suv
2- Kids sports
3- Their house

Sure, the upper crust will always have plenty of expendible income, but they don't go to places like D&B's.

I beg to differ. The economy is strengthening again, and people are beginning to have disposable incomes again. There are enough people in the area, and from other areas to support a Dave & Busters. We do have many universities in the area where students look for things to do, and the upper crust(parents and teens) would go there. D&B isn't like anything else in the area, so one would be fine here.

I emailed the D&B guy responsible for new locations and he said B'ham was one area they were studying for expansion. Dubious at best, but at least it wasn't a flat out no.

I would think Summit would be the best choice for a location.

Or maybe the Galleria area, Highway 280, or even downtown.
