The commute from Chelsea really depends on the time of day. My husband works close to Target on 280 (about 2-3 miles this side of I-459). His commute to and from work is about 20-30 min. at 8:00ish in the morning and after 5 in the afternoon. We love living in Chelsea. I would prefer the traffic of 280 any day to the rush hour traffic on I-65 (in my opinion I-65 is much worse than 280 at any rush hour part of the day). This is one reason why we chose Chelsea as opposed to Alabaster, Helena, or Pelham.
