Default Thinking about relocating to B-Ham for UAB

I currently reside in the J-Ville/Anniston area, however I believe a change in scenery is in order since I have lived in moderately small towns all my life.

Anyhow, I am majoring in Finance with a Criminal Justice minor. What would you recommend as far as jobs and all and where would be a safe location to live if going to UAB?

sandwiche is on a distinguished road
If you want a really safe area you could look for apartments in Hoover and Vestavia.

I am a student at UAB and live in Southside behind the campus. Most of my student friends live downtown, too, in neighborhoods around Five Points, Glenn Iris, the Highlands, and Forest Park. Crime really varies by street, but the Highlands is a nice area. If you want to live downtown I would just advise driving around the streets on Southside and look for apartment buildings, for rent signs on a street that you like.
