maryg0601 is on a distinguished road
Default Homewood house. Valley ave. Info please...

Looking at a house on valley ave. How is the neighborhood?? Map quest says once again to take 59 to get to medical park east (where 459 meets 59 near trussville) but I can see backroads I could take on the map, as well as going out of my way to take 459. What about 20? How is traffic on that road? My hours of commuting will be 8:30 am or so and 5:30 pm back. What do y'all think? Thanks!

Mary

She's renting, not buying

Will you be leaving your home at 8:30 or do you need to be at work at 8:30. If you are leaving at 8:30, you will be on the tail end of the traffic and should be OK

Homewood is an interesting place in that parts of it is very sought out and has a lot of life-time residents, where other parts of it are not too desireable and are made up of a good deal of undergrads and single people. Valley Avenue is not a terrible place, it is just not the more sought after part. There is bad traffic, a lot of younger people, and much of the crime in Homewood takes place around the Valley Ave area. I lived on valley Ave for a while in an apartment several years back, and though I didn't hate it, I probably wouldn't live there again. My car was broken into, my neighbor sold pot, and the liquor store down the street from me had been robbed within the year.
