Can anyone tell me about the crime rates and diversity level of zip codes 35205 and 35206? I have been looking to buy a home and the properties in those two locations are beautiful.

35205 is very diverse, however, within the zip code there are pockets of homogenity. The Eastern part is about 90% white. The Western part is about 75% black. There are people of many other races (Hispanic, Indian, East Asian) mixed in. 35205 has a lot of young people and some empty nesters. 35206 is a little older and a little quieter (fewer restaurants, almost no nightlife). It is about 75% black and contains a fairly diverse demographic in terms of families, singles, etc. Both are rather low in terms of "violent" crimes, but they do suffer from things such as trespassing, vehicle beak-ins, etc. The exception would be the Eastern part of 35205 and all of 35222 (east of 35205), which are rather wealthy and extremely livable.

Don't you just love how it's the 21st century and it seems as if the Jim Crow laws never changed? That's what you get for having unequal housing laws.

Unequal housing laws? This is not a planned settlement but a growing and sprawling metropolitan city. People tend to flock together be it culture, color, believes ...

Um look at every large city in the US since the country was founded. Ethnic/racial groups flock together. Irish, Chinese, Italian, etc., etc., etc. This has nothing to do with your backwards racial thinking.
