Im considering Vestavia Hills for a place to live and i was wondering what people think about the area, is it a nice neighbor hood? Hows the area for night life? Im a single 27 year old so im looking for somewhere that i can possibly settle down...

Vestavia Hills is a suburb of Birmingham...it all runs together so it's hard to tell which town is which.
Lots of young people...my son, who's 27 like you, and his bride just moved there from Birmingham's 5 Points. You're right next to any kind of nightlife that's available, but in a fairly safe area.
You really should ask the moderator to move this to the Birmingham forum.

2nd nicest suburb of Bham. However, I would not consider Vestavia to have really any kind of "nightlife" at all. There are lots of restaurants and maybe a sports bar, but if you are talking about bars, clubs, etc. there are basically none. There are a couple in Hoover but mostly older crowds. For nightlife for people under 35 you would need to be around 280 or southside. 280 has the wrst traffic by far of anywhere in the Bham area so be wary. Southside or decent parts of Homewood would be much better. Way more single 20 somethings than Vestavia.

If I were 20-something sans children, I would be on Southside/Forest Park like a shot. It's really a great part of town.

A lot of my co-workers (all in their 20's) seem to live in the Crestline area. Close to Birmingham and affordable housing. Just lock your door, and don't keep valuables in your car! But, that's good advice no matter where you end up!

I think the only reason to move to somewhere like Vestavia Hills would be for the schools, or if its close to work. Unless you work outside of the city, I would move to a neighborhood in Birmingham city.

I think you mean Crestwood. Crestline is a neighborhood in Mountain Brook. And, yeah, Crestwood's great.
