    I don't think Midland and Odessa are boring names at all. In fact, quite the contrary. West and northwest Midland are my favorite areas out there. They are a great halfway point between Dallas and El Paso (and they literally are).

    Interesting...I'm from Texas and yes, I have wondered how some names came to be.

    I agree about Paris, Tx. Big name for little town ...city or whatever.
