Yeah, I didn't mean to suggest downtown wasn't doing okay or wasn't an exciting, vibrant place to be (especially May-November).

I actually meant to include that disclaimer in my above post.

Anchorless, what do you think about the new Capitol underground wings currently under construction?
I kind of wish they left the grounds as is and renovated the old courhouse. It was a shame to see those old trees and the park like setting on the capitol grounds destroyed.

On one hand I suppose I approve of the project, simply because (at least from what I know) the integrity of the Capitol Building will remain. But I do agree with you that tearing up some of the old trees (and the history they had) and redoing the grounds was heartbreaking.

I do also agree the old Courthouse could have been utilized, much like it is being used now. At some point, sadly, we'll probably have to say goodbye to the Courthouse and the old Jail.

I don't know a whole lot about this project, though...

Anthropologie has opened in downtown Boise which is in the midst of a more upscale retail boom, downtown has definately arrived and is a shopping destination in itself. We ofter hear that the Boise area is ripe for retail expansion as it is going on everywhere, just drive 5 minutes in any direction and you will notice all of the activity. The new center in Eagle will do just fine as long as the economy doesn't collapse. Eagle has quite a few new upscale locally owned boutique shops with clothing for both sexes, and the foodie/fine dining scene is really taking off. It is almost a whole different city (referring to Eagle) than it was a year ago.
Don't sell it short by assuming
Well there seem to be a lot of foreclosed properties around this Eagle project and a lot of empty home lots. That is what I was referring too. My parents live in Eagle and have seen as many places disappear as come in...mostly those boutique shops. I think most commercial projects are just playing catch up to the residential boom.

Obviously, if the developers start construction they feel it is viable and we'll just have to wait and see.

That is totally false there is a depressed market here, many of these retail stores will not even open for business. Many of them will stop construction midway, this is a national event if not world wide.

Just because people are still at the mall running up whats left for room on their credits cards does not mean we have a vibrant economy, home equity is going negitive.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it. And for God sakes wake up man.

The Shops at Lakemoor has been edited out of most of the pages on the developers website. Such as the map of their projects and new projects. It was once there.
Poag & McEwen

However, it sometimes shows up on the homepage itself.

Is there any more info on this project?

I know that. But on ALL their other pages except if you directly link to it. It is gone.

Example, no longer on their "New" list:
The Promenade Shops at Orchard Valley

Here is a link for another mixed use project in Eagle. I saw the billboard along State Street advertising for it.

The River District, Eagle Idaho
