Boise is so different than NYC as to be like another planet. As long as you don't mind interstellar travel and realize Boise won't be anything like back east (and you won't be able to find good deli anywhere in the state) maybe it'll work for you.
Not necessarliy true. Besides this deli, I can think of some others that are really good in the area, Boise does good with Western and NW style deli's But this one is NYC meets Boise.
The firefighter mustache and thick New Yawk accent of Jimmy Beltucci, who greets customers upon entering Uncle Giuseppe's, instantly bestow a nearly bullet-proof deli credibility to the modest four-table-and-a-counter joint. It may be in a Glenwood strip mall, but to hear that accent greet customers, it feels like Brooklyn. Deep Brooklyn.
Beltucci and his son Stephen, co-owners of Giuseppe's, ran a small co-op style grocery on Long Island called Valencia Deli before moving to Boise. They decided to start a deli here because, as the younger Beltucci puts it: "We figured we'd do a better deli than anyone else around here."
AND
Another New Yorker now Boisean opened a hot dog restaurant on Vista Ave a few years ago and it is very popular.
If you're conservative and pro-constitution, I really don't see why you couldn't be accepted with open arms anywhere in Idaho.. Remember, all those descendants of the pioneers who came to Idaho long time ago, originated from back East.. All of my family originates from New York as well.. It's not the State that matters to the more conservative people out West, it's the attitude..
i am from NYC and visited Boise and it was a hick ah do city. Nice nothing like nyc I think you and your family should take a vaca before you make the big move maybe even look into N. NV like Reno, tahoe, Carson before you leave the Tax free state
