GhostPoet is on a distinguished road
Default Meridian

Can someone tell me about this place? It SOUNDS good...but then I thought another city did too and it turned out to be over-run with gang violence.

This is my last option for moving near Boise, so I hope this place is good.

Basically, we want housing that's $160k or under. and is also a safe area...we want to feel safe just walking all around our neighborhood without seeing gang members lurking about, no matter the time of day. Low crime and extremely low gang activity. Preferably away from the hispanic community. (no offense to hispanics...but there ARE a lot of hispanic gangs near Boise, so it seems)

PLEASE tell me...is this place finally the place we can start looking for a house?

Meridian is overrun by families and kids and yards, playgrounds, skate parks, schools, churches everywhere, $$.
I have never heard of gang activity in Meridian. It is too pure.
The gang activity you talk of is in Nampa/Caldwell, but I saw on another source that property values in each of those cities is up over 40% and each of those cities is completely revamping their downtowns with new shops, and rehabing old historic buildings. So with property values up that much it only makes sense that their image is and will change. The touchy issues of illegal, hispanic gangs is something the whole western US is dealing with.

I don't know where the idea of this supposed gang problem anywhere in the Boise area comes from.
