Can someone tell me about high school athletics in the Boise area? Specifically, which schools have strong basketball and football programs? We're moving with teenage kids and sports are pretty important to them. We're leaning towards Meridian or Eagle because of the reasons most list on here reasons to avoid them. I like suburbia and we attend the Mormon church. How would a commute to BSU be from these areas?
Is there someplace besides Craigslist to look for FSBO homes in Boise? Thanks for any help!

Go to Owners.com and be sure to check the owners sale price to similar homes and their worth as I see the owners tend to price their homes higher. Good Luck!

For sanctioned HS sports, there are various levels depending on the student body population. Boise public schools generally play at the highest, 5A level. For basketball, Borah beat Mountain View for the state title this past year. In football, Coeur d'Alene (8 hours north of Boise) beat Eagle. Capital is also a good sports school. Borah and Mountain View are also up there, as is Timberline. Boise high has seen better days. Meridian talent has been diluted by students migrating to new Rocky Mountain high. There are always standouts each year who get drafted to college sports, especially Boise state. This year, Eagle's quarterback Tyler Mangum accepted a scholarship to BYU when he gets back from his LDS mission.
