Default Future Stadium for the Boise Hawks Baseball Team ?

I have read a few articles about the plans, or lack thereof, for a new stadium to replace the criticised Memorial Stadium where the minor league Boise Hawks play. People say its a fun park and the Hawks play good ball. Having a good minor league baseball program is important to me in a move. What is the feeling about the future of the Boise Hawks??

Personally I think that a metro area the size of Boise should shoot for the stars and try and get a PCL team here. Kind of embarrassing that a city our size has a minor league team that is barely "A" league ball. Would be a natural fit and easy place for the Tacoma, Reno, Las Vegas and Salt Lake City PCL teams to schedule road trips.

Don't think that any tax money should be spent on the Hawks, their stadium or in trying to keep them here. We should only fund a stadium if we can move up to "AA" or "AAA" league baseball.

AA is not realistic because there are no leagues that play AA west of Texas. It's either the Northwest League (A) or the PCL (AAA).

I don't sense that there is very much interest in local governments in the Treasure Valley funding a new stadium for minor league baseball. The Hawks' ownership doesn't seem interested in footing the bill either. The Cubs have threatened to pull their affiliation if the stadium isn't upgraded and my guess is that it won't be anytime soon. The Hawks will probably stay around (perhaps with a new affiliation) but that's hardly a sure thing.

Even a regulation "A" ball team would be good. Boise needs an updated park big time. With its population and tradition of the Boise Braves and then the Hawks, someone is missing out !
