Easy answer, after looking through the entire list they are ranking small towns and also suburbs of larger cities. Boise is larger than almost all of the cities listed and Boise is not a suburb of a larger city. Meridian is a suburban city in the Boise Metro area so that is why Meridian was ranked and not Boise.

Boise - List of Lists - Economic Development

Forbes, April 2012 -- No. 2 Best City for Raising a Family

The Atlantic, March 2012 -- No. 6 America's Hottest Music City

KPMG Report, March 2012 -- No. 3 Lowest Cost of Business in Pacific Northwest

Brookings Institute, March 2012 -- Top 20 Fastest Recovering Cities

Sunset Magazine, February 2012 -- Fittest Towns of the West

CNN Money, February 2012 -- Top 10 Turnaround Towns

Women's Health/Men's Health, January 2012 -- No. 5 Healthiest City
Looks like the Office of Economic Development has been spending their money getting on these lists....

I wonder how much they spend. Someone should do a quit audit or public records request.

Here it is, by the way. Spending 300k on something. 200k on personnel, and 100k on maintenance and operations. Would like to know exactly how that's spent...

Don't know but you can probably discuss it at that guardian website or with the outstanding citizens who leave comments at the Statesman. So, in your opinion whenever a city, any city, is on those lists, the cities government entities have paid money to the magazines just so they can see their city ranked? Better find out how much Meridian paid.
omg, the cynics in this world become more cynical all of the time. run the sky is falling.
