Smile Want to start a business in Boise

Hello, I am interested in starting a business in the Boise area. Is there a need in the Boise area for any business in particular? In other words, is there a shortage of some service or business in Boise? I wanted to know if anyone here knew the business climate there and how difficult/easy it is to run a business in Boise? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Here is a ranking list I found at the city website which speaks of the business climate. I pasted it below not to brag but to show that humble little Boise consistently ranks high in business oriented rankings. (I omitted some rankings that were not job or business related). Also, here is a link to the Boise State "entrepreneur" page:

also check out www.cityofboise.org

Boise has always been known as a good city for entrepreneurs. For a city this size, Boise has an impressive amount of large business (large corporate headquarters) and small business that were founded here. I know personally that this city is a hotbed for high tech and "trendy" outdoor gear entrepeneurs. I also feel that the downtown area is a good example of entrepreneurs because of the large number of local restaurants and shops. "Buy Idaho" is a big campaign here to support local business and it does quite well. Downtown has over 120 retail shops and 116 restuarants and night clubs/wine bars (according to a city website) and most are local establishments. What are you interested in opening?
