Default ice and snow ???

I know that Boise gets snow in the winter, but can someone tell me ... does it get alot of ice as well? And, how many months long is winter and how cold does it get? Thanks!

I've only lived here for one winter and it was not bad at all. I still do not own a snow shovel and was able to use a broom to clean off my driveway and sidewalk last winter. Winter in Boise is short and sweet, maybe at the most 8-10 weeks long. Also, Boise does not seem to get ice storms like they do in the midwest or east coast. There was probably a grand total of 7-10 days where the roads required a little bit of caution when driving and again nothing like it is in other parts of the country.

Micrguy is right, we really don't get much ice in Boise. When I lived in the Portland-Metro area (Oregon), ice storms were more common than what you will ever experience in Boise. For winter temperatures, look at my post under Boise at the top of the page called Info on Boise Metro Area. There's a website on there that lists the average temperatures.
