Currently with Verizon here in Vegas, but might switch to T-Mobile - how is the service up there? I'm most concerned with 3G speeds, don't care a lot about 4G at this time..

T-mobile works well in most of Idaho's cities including Boise, Eagle, Meridian, etc - even with their so-called "4G."
It is not a good choice for many who live in Idaho however, as you will find zero coverage on many roads in between the cities, often for many miles.

AT&T is a better choice.

Default T-mobile

T-mobile is a great choice if you plan on living and staying in the Boise area. The service is reliable and has good 3g/4g speeds. I used to work for T-mobile at one of their retail locations in Boise, and they definitely have some of the cheapest rate plans, they compete well with AT&T coverage wise (share towers) and are better than Sprint in my opinion- however Verizon has them beat hands down, except I'm not sure it is worth the price difference- depends on your needs. If you are planning on being in rural areas, or off hunting, fishing, camping etc. than don't expect to have fantastic coverage- you'll have to pay the premium that Verizon requires to get better service- that goes for voice and internet.

AT&T has excellent service all over the area from what I've experienced. I've been with AT&T for many years and when my contact was up, I chose to go back with them.

I agree, TMobile is great in town. My mom is a real estate broker/builder/property manager, so she is always on the go all over town, and she has had TMobile for years with very good service. She has service along most of the I84 corridor as well, but not all. But in more remote areas, especially in the mountains, she mostly does not have service.
