Talking It's beginning to LOOK a lot like CHRISTmas!!!

DARN I'm good at predicting S-N-O-W !!! This past Saturday was exactly 2 wks after my post below and we got a good 2 inches of snow where I live. I had just finished shoveling my driveway on Sunday when lo and behold, more snow started to fall !!! Egads!!!!

Now mind you, normally I wouldn't care about the snow , but I had folks coming over to see my home and I didn't want to deal with the wet mess tracked throughout my lovely home !!!

How are all YOU newbies to Idaho handling this recent snowfall? Are you enjoying your first winter in Idaho? Inquiring minds want to know!!!

Default I love it.

It has been so pretty.
It's just enough for the kids to play in, but not enough to be a nuisance. They boys made their first snow man yesterday ...very very cool They are just gearing up to go play in it some more.

The best part is watching our little dog try to fetch snow balls. He hasn't caught on yet and they fall apart when he goes to pick them up. It's a hoot.

Merry Christmas everyone!

We've had over a foot and a half here in Iowa this winter so far and its all here still.

Aratay is on a distinguished road
Maybe it's just me, but it sure seems like 25 years ago we had a LOT more snow in the valley. As a kid, we'd build igloos and have to walk in the car tracks to get to school. The snow plows would leave (what seemed like) mountains of snow at the end of the street that we'd sled down. Is it just me that seems to think we used to have a lot more snow? Funny enough, it's currently 46 degrees and blowing like crazy outside....no snow today.

I dig the snow. I hate it when it gets sunny and melts, though.

Let it stick around for a few weeks.

Talking Well Anchorless, I have this to say about that.....

And now a word from our sponser :

Get in the know about Treasure Valley snow | Eyepiece | Idaho Statesman (broken link)

with another excerpt:

Just how much you enjoy the recent snow may depend on your personality. Skiers see opportunity, while others may dread the sore back that comes from driveway shovel duty. What you can’t do is escape it.
It’s not an illusion. Boise has had more snow so far this winter than usual.

Rain mixed with snow creates a huge mess. That's worse than just plain snow.

Smile Baby, it's cold outside... (insert music here)

HDL, cold is cold. Whether it is 35º degrees and raining in GA or 30º and snowing in Idaho, it is fargun cold!!

I have always thought if I'm going to freeze my tou-tou off I would rather do it while watching some beautiful snowfall that trying to keep my umbrella from turning inside out in the rain!!! JMHO

(Thanks, BTW, for the special 3 snowflakes left on my window sill this morning!! I am overflowing with excitement!!)
