My family is planning a move to the Boise area this summer. We are looking for just the right neighborhood to relocate to.

We would love it to be:
-within 20-30 min of Boise
-have a small-town feel
-have neighborhood with new construction (we plan to buy new)
-have larger lots (at least a third of an acre, 1/2 an acre would be ideal)
-be very safe

I have looked into the surrounding suburbs and think Kuna might be a a good fit for us, but I haven't been able to find nearly as much info on that area as I have for other communities near Boise. I would love to know more about Kuna. Most especially, I would love to know more about the Arrow Rock subdivision.

Namely:
-How is the drive from SW Kuna (on Cloverdale Road) to Boise during the most snowy winter months?
-Is that area undesirable at all? Is it being relatively near the correctional center a big deal?
-Is it considered a safe community?

Any insights would be much appreciated!

My wife and I have lived in Kuna since 1997, and if your looking for a small town feel I think Kuna is it in this area. What I have always valued most about the area is the quick access to the interstate, and ease of travel. Kuna is a great small town and while it does lack in the shopping department, it is 10 minutes away from walmart, home depot, lowes, winco, ext...

-How is the drive from SW Kuna (on Cloverdale Road) to Boise during the most snowy winter months? The drive in the winter is fine, it's bad everywhere during the first snowfall, but after that they stay on top of it.
-Is that area undesirable at all? Is it being relatively near the correctional center a big deal? It's a great area. You would never know that the correctional facility is there if people didn't know it already.
-Is it considered a safe community? Very much so!

As a Realtor I have quick access to the entire valley, and still drive by cows on my way home =).

Hope this helps,
