I love to wonder, regardless of the supposed "facts"

Thank you Anchor.
Torrie, you are right. If you keep on doing what you are doing, you will keep on getting what you are getting. And since it's working for you. You go, girl - as they say.
As for me, I will always wonder about the world, life, the stock market, a flower, real estate and more. Regardless, of what the "experts" and "they" say. This style has worked for me so I will just keep on keeping on, too.
Wonder is wonderful word.
Nothing bad about it.
won·der
1. to think or speculate curiously
2. A feeling of puzzlement or doubt.
Everyone who trusted the MLS "stats and comps" in 2005 is probably not loving their "professional" now.
Too bad that just following the statistics led so many people into an overpriced home.
As a side note (for insight) when we first wanted to come to Boise in 2005/2006. A very good friend who is a local Realtor, really kept saying "get up here ... sell your house ... you've got to get here now ... things are only going up in price ... blah, blah, blah."
If we had listened to the experts, and ignored my gut and outside research - which conflicted - the MLS at the time.
We would be upside down in a house right now.
That, is a fact and statistic that speaks to me louder than anything I can pull up on Paragon (MLS).

Wow, how do you top that? I'm speechless in more ways than one.
The only thing that comes to mind is,
Anchorless; looks like you just found yourself an agent!

Well, he has some points.
It's no big discovery that statistics can be manipulated in a great number of ways - this is something we have known for hundreds of years. The narrative is more important, context is more important, and how statistics are used to supplement both is important.
Too many people let statistics do their thinking for them; it's really transparent, and kind of funny, actually. Those a bit more honest say "here are the stats - you decide what they mean." And reasonable people can disagree with how statistics are supposed to read, what they mean, etc.
Are stats important? Sure. But as Alley suggests, you should always have a healthy dose of skepticism for anyone who relies too heavily on statistics, for many reasons.

OMG,
I'm trying to be very nice here, let's just say I think most of the viewers got my point.
By the way Anchorless "he" is a "she" and you'll both be glad to know I don't have any statistics to prove it just my "gut".

This is good news. I had hoped/speculated that Idaho(Boise) could have a lower foreclosure rate compared to the scary national numbers in the news. I guess that makes us financially conservative...
