I certainly hope Micron can make it through the hard times. It just seems morale is at a low which is a little different than in the past.

Since you have family that works for the company; I'm sure they've seen this article. What's their take on it?

Well, better than no news or "bad" news but there is a real lack of confidence in upper management so basically a neutral feel about things right now.

I can understand that. Let's hope things begin to look up for them.

Torrie,
I'm impressed with all of your work. You make a very generous offer to those who want more information about high tech in Idaho. I've seen numbers before and have always been surprised how many jobs are changing in the state to high tech.
Maybe stated a better way, is I continue to be impressed with how many companies or residents move to ID who work in high tech. It seems one recent trend is to work for out-of-state companies, and live in ID.
Micron is a tough one - lots of people waiting not just in ID. But, the annoucement made, was about the ID facilities.
I do agree with Jack7y, that companies relocate (or I'll also say, expand) where there are enough trained employees.
The other thing to watch with Micron, depends partially on whether Areva locates near Idaho Falls. I don't want to start a thread on that yet, per chance they locate in one of the other 2 states. But, should they choose ID, then I suspect Micron will demand all sorts of things from the state, given what Gov. Otter signed for incentives, for Arvea to build a multi-billion dollar facility.
I hope morale or security (whatever the correct term for Micron employees) improves.
Good thread, Torrie.

I'll tell you - it ain't happening. At least to the extent it's made out to be.

You are God? You have the ability to project what will happen?
Can I ask you about the future of the United States and what is in store for all of us?
