Could some of the posters help me in finding areas in Boise and surrounding that would have the following:
1. "Over 55" areas that may have patio homes or condos in area close to mountains
2. For older folks, is it difficult to get doctors to take medicare or other insurance? Problems getting IN to see doctors? FINDING DOCS WHO TAKE OLDER FOLKS?
3. What's the best hospital around ?
4. Whats the best golf course around?...even best country club...
everyones OPINION is fine

Uhhm, no. It looks like a life-care community to me. Why do folks assume that retired people are ready to move into an assisted living place?

Google "Boise 55+" and you'll find listings.

US News does a country-wide hospital ranking each year, you can find info. at the link below:

U.S. News Best Hospitals 2015-16

The two big hospitals here are St. Alphonsus and St. Luke's, you will find they have a lot of locations in and around Boise.

I don't know about medicare acceptance, but I believe most doctors (incl. geriatrics) accept most non-medicare related insurance. I think your best bet is to do some searches via your insurance/medicare website in the Boise area and see what docs pop up.

Golf, I don't, so can't give you first hand knowledge, but if you Google Idaho Golf Course Rankings, you'll get a lot of hits.

Here is one:

Best Idaho Golf Courses

This link may be outdated, not sure.

I do know that BanBury in Eagle looks pretty nice, from a non-golfers view. :-)

My wife and I are looking for a 55 plus community but there are really none here in the Boise area. At least what I believe you are looking for. If you are comparing 55 plus communities such as in Florida and Arizona with like Del Webb or Robsion with large club houses with gyms, activities, golf course, pools, clubs, etc, etc it is not here!
Its our opinion this area is missing a great opportunity again such as a Del Webb type of community. There is a supposed 55 plus community in Meridian that just developed but after visiting , it is not! Public streets throughout, not gated, no pool, small houses with alley way garages, high priced, nothing!

Sorry but I would look elsewhere as we have started to. We are looking at Arizona and will be staying at two Del Webb communities there as we explore several places.

Best to you.

It's because the place would be a ghost town from November through March!

My apologies for assisting. They offer different floor plans and have cottages (like patio homes). Best of luck!

Since DW is in at least 21 States, am a little surprised they don't have a development here.

Not my cup of tea, but some friends have a home in Sun City Mesquite and love it. I have a feeling we'll see one here in the next 10 years.
