Red face Snowfall in Boise and Mountain Home area

I am new to this forum. Have an eye on Boise area to move to. Originally from Louisiana, now in Wash State. Rain, rain go away Husband isn't overly fond of snow. What's the REAL scoop on yearly snowfall in Southern Idaho?

Also our son may take a job near Black Canyon Dam. Is Emmett Idaho a decent sized town to live in? Any shopping worth talking of? The commute to Nampa or Caldwell would be about 30+ miles one way as best as I could research.

Any info appreciated. Thanks!
