Smile Moving to Boise, Idaho area

Can anybody give me any information on cities surrounding Boise, Idaho.
What towns are desirable to live in, what towns are not?
What is the weather like most of the year, how much snow does the area get?
Is the area good for a young married couple/family?
What is the outlook for jobs? My husband has a job set up, but I would need a job.
Is there a lot to do? What do most people do for fun?

Here are some websites which will help you gain some info on the Boise area:

www.cityofboise.org
www.swita.org
www.nampa.com

www.boisechamber.org

I know that currently in the Treasure Valley (Boise Metro) that there are more jobs than people according to recent news reports. The growth, jobs, population, housing prices are expected to grow steadily for years to come. The weather is good, the Boise area is Idaho's banana belt. It snows a lot in the mountains around the Boise valley, and when it snows in the cities it usually melts pretty fast. The valley usually gets more rain than snow in winter. The snow stays to the mountains where it belongs. There is a lot of activities in the area and this is a very family oriented area too. Boise is like a small city that offers everything a large city does without the downsides of living in a large city.

Hi, my wife and I are thinking of moving to Idaho and probably Boise. We are wondering if there are many RV Parks there and also Mobile Home Parks.

We would probably buy an RV - as we've done before and live in it until we get a feel for the city. Are there also rv parks in some of the smaller towns in the area - other than to the west. Thanks much. MajorHart

I don't know what quite a few means to you, but YES, we do have RV parks here in Boise and also there are quite a few folks who own RV's and build garages for them at their homes (I haven't seen that in too many places). I think it's a great idea for you to check the area out that way.

I moved here 2 yrs ago from the Sacramento area and really love it in Boise ! You mentioned being runners and the weather here in Boise, the greenbelt along the Boise River and all the BLM land really lend themselves to people who enjoy running. I would hazard to guess that you can run 'almost' year round here except for a few days or weeks and feel safe while doing so in most areas IMHO .

I do know of a RV Park in a good location and if you wish more info on it, I can DM you with the info. But whether it is the BEST RV Park in the area or would meet your expectations is difficult to know. Best wishes in your search!
