Yeah, but keep in mind, these areas are "places to avoid" by Boise standards. In many cities, people wouldn't even blink twice about them.

I think all cities, across the US have areas that are "questionable", there are only a few that I consider to be really bad, city-wide. Compton, CA, Wilmington, CA (even tho' Wilmington has an architecturally gorgeous area, it's still pretty creepy at night).
They have some wonderful walking places close to them. Wilson Pond for one and a path directly in back of their home. They have been to the Chapele Winery and love it, I will have to ask them about the Sawtooth Winery.

Wilmington is scary during the day, I was there with my elderly parents in 2005 we stopped at a convenience store to get directions had a car load of gang members pull in next to us, and a cop right behind them (thank God) they were very intimidating! And I have often wondered what would've happened if the cop hadn't made his presence known. I could hardly wait to get out of there!

I live in East Nampa and love it. It is a mixture of rural farm land, newer subdivisions, and shopping centers. When I was planning on purchasing in a suburban area (I prefer that) I called the local police department and told them 3 houses I was considering. They steered me away from one and said this housing community was good. I live off Cherry.

East Nampa is great, I love it too! I am right on the dividing line between Nampa and Meridian. Lovely area, rural, but close enough to what I need to be convenient.
