See my post directly above yours.

Yes, you need to have your sprinklers winterized.

I haven't seen people that provide that service. Anyone know how the winterizing service works. Any recommendations as to who does good work. Do they also do anything outside for water faucets, garden hose connections?

I'll PM you the name of the person we use. Costs $35 and he comes back in the spring to turn it back on.

HD and Lowes (many stores really) carry a protective covering for your outdoor water spigot (I like to call them "cold condoms" ), link below.

Shop Frost King Standard Styrofoam Faucet Cover at Lowes.com

There are a few different styles, at differing prices.

The people that do the sprinkler blowouts have been doing in since around the 1st of Oct. and are probably heavily booked. We have been with one service and they have 4 compressors and do about 1000 a year, don't even have to call them they call us and say when they will be at the house. Just had ours done Sunday the 25th. Suggest you call around and get on someones schedule before you have serious problems.

In addition if you have a RV and it is stored in a non-heated space you MUST have it winterized or expensive fixes come spring

Go on Craigslist and search for sprinkler blowouts there are numerous ones.

If you still have plants and vegetables in the garden, remember tonight is supposed to freeze so you will want to cover them if you still want them.

Yesterday, I pulled the remainder of my bean and tomato vines and hung them up in my garage so I don't lose them to frost.

Just taking a break from pulling off the last of my tomatoes and mulching around the roses.

As much as I love to garden, it'll be nice to have a break for a while! LOL
