So you live in Meridian and because you view it as conservative it automatically should be classified as one of the most conservative in the entire nation.

Yes -- the one I posted previously.
Ok, well the other 100,000 must be pretty liberal then.. Yeah, I see naked witches with hemp necklaces high on psychadelic mushrooms waving Jill Stein banners around here quite often

NO Syringaloid, I believe in freedom of speech. I respect your opinion that it is not one of the most conservative places as much as I would hope people could respect mine for thinking it is one of the most conservative places. Everyone has the right to their view and perspective.

That is part of being a conservative, freedom loving individual is that we believe in the power of free speech, due process and the rights and liberties of all individuals. Disagreeing and having contrary opinions is allowed and respected, unlike in "Mother" Russia where my relatives resided for many years prior to the 1980s and were not allowed to have contrary views or challenge the authority of the State.

There is a big difference between freedom of speech/opinions which we all are fortunate to have, and correct facts that can be substantiated.

Everyone thinks they are correct, hence why everyone shares their opinion and has a discussion. Avoiding personal insults and talking down on the other person would be appreciated. I have no problem with a debate or anyone trying to prove me wrong, but when someone starts attacking me personally then I have a hard time engaging in an intelligent conversation. I would never judge you personally or make disparaging or denigrating comments when you state your opinions and I respect them. In fact, I would not want people just to agree with me and have no problem with thought provoking conversation and some respectable debate.

Madison county is the most conservative county in Idaho, and in 2012 the second most in the country. This is fact.

Election Results for Ada County

Hillary Rodham Clinton DEM 11390 47.0% 21669 46.9% 42618 34.0% 75677 38.7%

Gary Johnson LIB 893 3.7% 1617 3.5% 7474 6.0% 9984 5.1%
Evan McMullin IND 1233 5.1% 2045 4.4% 7948 6.3% 11226 5.7
Donald J. Trump REP 10271 42.4% 20108 43.5% 63373 50.6% 93752 47.9

38.7% vote for Hillary Clinton and almost 60% vote for conservative candidates..

Raul R. Labrador REP 7226 61.0% 14392 60.8% 43928 69.5% 65546 66.4%
James Piotrowski DEM 4625 39.0% 9266 39.2% 19247 30.5% 33138 33.6%

Bill Rutherford DEM 996 38.3% 2011 38.1% 3518 28.3% 6525 32.1%
Chuck Winder REP 1606 61.7% 3270 61.9% 8911 71.7% 13787 67.9%

66.4% voted for the conservative LDS Senator Raul Labrador and 61.7% for Chuck Winder in Ada County.. Can you still blame Hillary's unpopularity for that as well??

I just reviewed the election results for Ada County and I will tell you the Republicans and conservative candidates were voted by a huge proportion of the voters and the Republicans won by a landslide.

And, these results include the city of Boise, now let's remove Boise, where a good majority of these Democrat votes came from.

Sorry guys, but numbers speak for themselves.. Ada county is very right-wing conservative, at least by the voting statistics.. You may think otherwise, but this is my assessment both from the election results and from living here and reviewing my community and neighbors.

Latah county is pretty liberal as well. Part of the underpowered liberal trifecta for Idaho.

The massive weakening of unions really hit the democrats hard in North Idaho - it was not too long ago a mostly Democratic zone from Boundary to Latah counties.
