Default Zoo Boise

What can you all tell me about the zoo in Boise? I have checked out the website, but was wondering if some people wouldn't mind sharing their own personal opinions/experiences there. Is it a nice zoo? How large is it? Do you find it reasonably priced for what it offers? How does it compare to other zoos you might have been to, focusing on but not necessarily limited to zoos in comparatively-sized cities? Again, thanks in advance for any feedback provided on this subject.

It was pretty dismal many years back but has improved a fair amount in recent years and is to improve even more in the next couple years. Its only a few bucks so I wouldn't conisder it a bad deal. I don't know of any cities Boise's size that have a really great zoo so I can't compare. Others will probably have better updated information.

My kids loved going to the Boise Zoo. They are ages 8, 4 and 1. I think it's a good size - not huge. You can get through it quickly if you want but there is still a lot for kids to do if you want to kill a 1/2 day. I thought it was a pretty good deal but we just bought a family membership for $50/year and we would just go anytime we wanted.

Definitely worth checking out!

I work at the zoo so I'm there damn near every day. It is small, but it is actually pretty nice. Very cheap, so it's not a rip off. You can get a family pass for 50 bucks, and that pass can be used to get into almost zoo in the country for free.

It is no San Diego or Pheonix, but I think it better than the one in Seattle, even though there's is bigger. In October, the African exhibit will be completed, it will include a fairy ride, there will be a few giraffes, a lion, and I think some new apes/monkeys among other things.

Thanks for all the input so far. I definitely wasn't expecting a zoo on par with let's say San Diego, but I'm glad to know it's a nice zoo nonetheless.
