My 14-year-old daughter is a gifted student in the 9th grade, and very mature for her age. FWIW, we relocated here from CA (am originally from West Vancouver, BC) back in 2002, and it was quite a culture shock for both of my daughters -- they had a difficult time finding friends they could feel comfortable with.

Anyway, thought it might well be worth looking into the possibility of CA teenagers in ID high schools getting in touch with one another.

Any thoughts on that? Keep in mind that most teenagers don't want their parents listening in, and need some space.

I do know of a teenager from Santa Cruz, CA who moved here with her parents, and became very self-destructive as she couldn't adapt to all the changes in her life. She seems okay now although it cost her parents thousands upon thousands of dollars.

Cheers!
