Anyone familiar with the area around the Leku Ona Hotel? (Boise: college, bars)

My wife and I are passing through Boise this July. Having never been, I wanted to stay downtown, so we booked a Saturday night at the Leku Ona. Since then I read a travel review complaining about excessive late night noise generated from two adjacent bars. Does anyone know if this sounds true? Or perhaps the traveler was a bit on the finicky side. Everything else I have read about this place sounds great.

Yeah, that's in direct proximity to the main (and pretty much only) row of bars in downtown Boise.

The area is really nice and pleasant during the day and evening, but watch out Friday and Saturday night - all of the college kids / young kids go down there, fight, act loud/stupid, cruise the streets, and cause a commotion.

It isn't State Street (Madison) or 6th St (Austin) crazy, but it is something.

As Anchorless said, you will be surrounded by bars. Stay at the Hampton downtown if you want something quieter, yet still convenient.

Or the Grove, even.

Just that particular block (Capitol to 6th, Front to Idaho) is loud and noisy on weekends. The rest of downtown is active, but not out of control.
