Default Heading your way...

I don't post much on here, but I do read the posts regularly. My wife and I are planning to move to the area, just need to find employment and get everything ironed out.

We'll be vacationing there Saturday through Saturday (May 3-10). I have an interview with a sign company on Monday, so hopefully that goes well.

Anyway, we'll be in the Boise area for about half of our stay and then we're going to head up to Coeur d'Alene for a few days, then back to Boise.

Anyway, we're really looking forward to being up there again. Can't wait to get back to Gernika and Goldy's, see the mountains, and be back in Idaho.

Thanks to both of you. If the interview goes well, we may look at rent houses while we're there. We'll buy eventually, but until we're positive where we want to put down roots, we've decided to rent.

A bit of advice if you (or anyone else on the forums) do look to rent. I've noticed a lot of "for rent" signs around town, but my office is getting waaaay more qualified applicants than we have units. We are at 0 vacancy, and have been for 6 months or more, and yet there are signs up everywhere.

This leads me to think that many people are trying to rent for far too much, or they wouldn't have those vacancies. It might not be a bad idea to ask the question.. "Are you flexible on that price?" If the property has been vacant for any length of time, they might be open to negotiation.

Just my 2 cents

*edit* A note of warning. If the unit has been vacant 30 days or less, you probably shouldn't even bother asking, you might irritate the landlord, so you might ask that question first.
