Default In Boise 5/11-5/14. What to do?

My wife and I will be in Boise Sunday-Wednesday next week just checking things out. We'll be staying at the Shilo Inn with our 2 labs.
We want to get a glimpse of the area and the recreational opportunities. We also want to spend one afternoon checking out some homes to get an idea of what's out there, especially in Eagle or Meridian.
Any suggestions on quick trips up to the mountains or lakes for a hike?
Also, what are the gas prices in the area this week?
We're coming from Port Angeles, Wa.

Default Try the Foothills trails or take a run up to Bogus Basin

You've picked a great time to visit, the last couple of weekends have been fantastic..

For hiking, we have the foothills trails. If you want to see mountains, take a ride up to bogus basin. If you want a short drive, go up hwy. 55 towards McCall. You'll find lakes and mountains there.

As far as houses, take a look at new construction. I know builders who have been sitting on spec. homes for a year and now they're very motivated to sell. You can get them to cover closing costs and even 6 months of interest sometimes. I personally, would avoid Corey Barton and Hubble Homes, however. They have a reputation for low quality. They also tend to drop their prices in the winter and that ruins the home values for those who bought during the rest of the year.

Anyway, have a great week here in Boise.

I went by the Fred Meyer gas station TODAY and the price for unleaded (87) was $3.45 !!! By this weekend/next week, you should expect it to me 5-10 cents higher (imo) .

I hope you and your wife and 2 labs have a great time in Boise !

Thanks HDL and Mortgageboss, we're looking forward to a little exploration.
3.45 is downright cheap compared to 3.78 here......it'll be like its on sale!!

Keep an eye on things, our regular unlead is only 85 octane. Don't know if up in WA it's the same or like most of the country where the regular unlead is 87 octane. I have to run 87 in my Camry or she threatens me with the cat. convertor

Check out the Eagle Island Experience this weekend at Eagle Island in Eagle.
Kind of hippy and new age, but a fun time.

If you're searching for a home be aware that home prices here are in a downward spiral. The median home prices has dropped over 10 percent since last April, and in some areas of town, Eagle, Meridian, and Star, the prices have dropped even more.

Here's a link to the Intermountain MLS if are of the studious type, if not, you'll just find yourself like all the others, upside down.

Intermountain Multiple Listing Service, Inc.: Statistics

Have fun! The Greenbelt shouldn't be too bad this weekend.

Question Boise

Hi all,
My hubby and i too will be in Boise the 16-18th and wondered about some great places to eat and shop, not sure yet where we will be staying. But just wanted an idea of places that specialize in seafood or steak. And maybe some bargain shopping, that the locals would know of. Thanks a bunch.
