housing costs Boise area
Hi,
I'm considering a job transfer to Boise and was just wondering about the housing costs. About how much is a 3 bedroom house in North Boise, Boise Bench, or Meridian?
TIA--elle

homestore.com is a good indication. I have been researching the same thing. I am hoping to move up to Boise myself.
It si pretty varied, but a 3 bedroom would run about 110,000 to 200,000. AA wide range I know.

Boise real estate prices
Boise's real estate market has really started heating up over the last few months.
My brother-in-law and mother-in-law both recently sold their 3BR houses, one in West Boise, the other in NW Boise. One house was built in the 70's the other in the 80's, and both sold for $179K. It's definitely a seller's market right now.
Housing will be cheaper in Meridian and Nampa.
For what it's woth, I used to live in Nampa. My 1600 sq ft 4 BR home, built in 2000, sold for $130K in 2003. The new owners have it back on the market listed at $179K.

Nampa is a great place to live as well. I currently live there and find the schools to be great and the people that live here are very friendly as well. A lot of families in this area and a huge outdoor mall that is nearly completed: Costco, Target, Kohl, Best Buy and lots more. Mostly everything that you have in Meridian and Boise is now newly going in here in Nampa. We moved here from the east coast 2 years ago and really like Nampa over Meridian and Boise as the traffic and hussle and bussle isn't as bad as it is in those areas. Definitely a growing place.

I too give Nampa a thumbs up. It used to have a bad wrap with "gangs"...not so true. There is crime everywhere, no where is perfect and I lived in San Diego for years and been in Nampa for three and never had a single problem with crime here. Whereas in San Diego, living in what was considered a good area my car was repeatedly broken into and crime was rampant almost everywhere in that area. Nampa has a very warm feel to it, and I have everything here store wise that I had in San Diego. Great gyms too for the work out enthusiast. The housing prices are great here and you can get more for the buck in Nampa than in Meridian/Boise. Not a far drive to Boise. I work in Boise and it's a 25 minute drive there without the bumper to bumper. The 5 o'clock traffic is a little irritating, but really not that bad.

I was scared away from Nampa by what I heard about gangs but San Diego is really unsafe - And the prices and houses I saw in Boise were a little steep for me - J

What's the story on the Condo market in the Boise area ?
Has there been a lot of new residential RE development for Condos
in Boise in recent years, or is it almost exclusively single family detached
houses on lots ?
And I'm not talking about apartments complexs, I'm talking about Condo developments ?
