Hi everyone...

Trying to get all of my ducks in a row. I know there have been a couple of discussions on cable, et al, but I want to ask a few more specific things. Anyone who has any answers will be greatly appreciated

If I end up where I think I will end up, CableOne seems to be my only choice for Cable. I was hoping for Cox but no suck luck. Anyway, I went to the Cableone site and tried to get some info but it's just so vague. What I'm going to be looking for is Cable internet (as fast as possible), bundled with Digital Cable TV. Does anyone here know what a full Cable TV package might run? All the good channels plus HBO and Showtime, preferably. Also, I couldn't tell from the Cableone site about their DVR's. Does anyone know if they have deals like Cox where they'll come in and do 2 or 3 rooms and set you up with DVR's etc?

I'm really just looking for an estimate to start making my plans. I'm kind of torn between cable and satellite but I'm worried that with any weather, the satellite won't be such a good choice so I would love to hear opinions on both!

Thanks everyone!
Edited to say: I sound like a TV junkie and while I will admit I watch too much, I'm mostly watching news and election coverage these days. With it being an election year, I don't see that easing up. So let's just say I'm planning ahead!

I just have basic cable, internet and phone and am paying about $130 a month. Used to have Cox when I lived in Phoenix and so far the customer service with Cableone is much better. The only downside to Cableone is that they would not add any outlets for cable or internet in my basement, so I had to set up a wireless network for my computers when I set up my office.

I'm SE Idaho and CableOne for high speed Internet, and digital cable on two TVs one of which has the DVR. Runs me about $125 a month. I do not have the higher channels; HBO, Cinemax, etc etc.... gave up on that years ago when all channels seemed to run the same movies

What the others are saying sounds about right. I just got a bill and the expanded basic cable service (like 60 channels but no HBO, Showtime, etc) runs $46 and the 3.0 Mbps cable modem service runs $43. Thus it runs about $90 per month and I'm using two cable jacks - though I'm not sure they charge based on that. From my experience with Cox, Comcast, and TimeWarner in other places, the rates are pretty much the same everywhere.

I've always had good customer support with CableOne - pretty much the complete opposite experience I've had with Comcast and TimeWarner. So if you're worried about that aspect, CableOne seems to do a good job.

We use Cableone and we have basic cable (though somehow we're getting a few more channels than we're supposed to and no one can figure out how, but hey! ) and internet through them and we pay a little less than $75/month. We have our phone through QWEST.
