Default safe neighborhood recommendation

Hi All,

My best lady friend is moving to Boise and even though she's in her late 30s and moved around the country, I'm still worried because she's moving alone. She'd like to rent an apt (has a couple of indoor cats that I think are declawed but don't know for sure) for a year or so. If it were me, I'm thinking something around the $650-700 range. She's lived in everything from studios to three bedroom homes so I'm thinking square footage isn't a big deal. She also doesn't know I'm posting this message. No kids.

I'd like to give her some ideas of neighborhoods that would be affordable and safe for a single woman who enjoys being outdoors, running, bicycling, walking, etc. It's been years since I was last in Boise and the only neighborhood I really know about is Bench.

Any ideas? Also is my guess of rent range reasonable? I have no idea.

Thanks for making me look good.

I would recommend North boise for all the reasons you are concerned (not that she would have much to worry about anywhere in Boise) but the quality of life I believe is better on that side plus all the hiking, biking, walking and running is done over there for the most part.
For a good idea on rent and the equivalent I would recommend Boise craigslist
it has a lot of resources for free....
Hope this helps
Jeff

BT-

You recommend North Boise; is that the same thing as the North End? Sorry if that's a stupid question.

Thanks,

I lived in the River Quarry Apartments in SE Boise and really liked it. Right on the greenbelt, great amenities and very quiet...well except for the geese in the morning!
