Question Wind in Boise

Is Boise a windy place?

FYI - what I consider windy, where I currently live we have very windy days most of the spring, fall, & winter with gusts that blow in people's garages and blow their chimneys off. So needless to say I am sick of the wind

When living in Boise I use to think it is windy. Now that I have lived in SoCal I consider it to be just as windy in SoCal, if not more. Definitely more frequent heavy winds in SoCal. Although my mom said this spring was very very windy this spring in Boise.

I used to ride my bike a lot and so I am really attentive to how windy someplace is. Compared to most places in the western US, Boise is not very windy. I've lived in Arizona and New Mexico and both states were a lot windier than Boise.

However, once you get out of Boise it is very windy. There was an article in the paper that said that Idaho is the 13th windiest state in the country. Because of the foothills around Boise, we miss much of it.
