I will be visiting Boise for the first time during Labor Day Weekend and could use some feedback. What would you say are your top 5 must-do/see things while visiting Boise?
3. Do the wine country tour- Boisean will launch bus tours of Valley wine country | Business | Idaho Statesman (http://www.idahostatesman.com/business/story/323183.html - broken link)
5. Take a trolley tour of the city.
Boise Trolley Services & Trolley Train 208 433 0849
If you have time, take a drive up to McCall on 55- absolutely beautiful. Fairly easy drive. Check out Tamarack while you're there. Probably take you 2.5 hours to get to McCall. Tamarack is about 30 min. before McCall in Donnelly. Tamarack Resort, Idaho | Your Trailhead To Discovery
May not rate a "must do" to some but we had a lot of fun doing the items below.
1. Go to Farmer's Market in downtown on Saturday
2. Do a 1/2 or full day rafting trip (Kid friendly trips available)
3. Visit the Discovery Center of Idaho (kids and kids at heart)
4. Spend the day at Roaring Springs Waterpark (kids and kids at heart)
5. Spend Wednesday evening at "Alive After Five" in downtown (won't hold a kid's attention)
Our fall weather seems to be kicking in early....Saturday looks to be nice, 91, but then a cold front is due to blow in; you might want to bring a jacket. Highs are only suppose to be 71 and 70 for Sunday and Monday, with lows to be 53 to 48.
If you don't get a chance to float the river, try and visit the greenbelt at one of the following parks- Ann Morrison Park, Kathryn Albertson Park or Julia Davis Regional Park.
PS. take a hot cup of java with you on that walk through the greenbelt! My preference would be a hot carmel apple cider from Starbucks. Mmmmmm..... perfect for fall weather.
Hmmm, sounds yummy. Although when the weather gets cold(er) I love to indulge with a Milkee Way at Moxie Java (we have a Moxie Java in Reno near my home....I hear they're pretty big up in Boise).
Oh yummmm! that sounds like it's good, I'll have to try one of those. Well, hopefully you're having a good time here in Boise.
