Default What can you tell me re: Western States Cat?

My husband works as a field service mechanic for another Caterpillar dealership. We sometimes toy w/ the idea of moving to Boise, but we're not familiar w/ Western States...I know that it's quite a large company and just expanded in the last year. However, any info/impressions that "locals" have would be very helpful.

I doubt anyone knows anything about how the business is doing now (I know that some of their business depended on the housing boom/development, but I don't know how much or how they've fared lately), pay, benefits, company reputation, etc. it would be a huge help!

Also, any other similar companies (he works on heavy equipment) in the area?

Western States is a good local company, we dealt with them often in my last job for rentals. Business has really slowed for the Boise location at least that is what our rental associate said. He spent alot of time at our shop since we were one of the few that were still busy. Things picked up over last winter with all the snow. Snow removal was going for 100+ an hour in the area around my home. Anyway I would recommend Western States to anyone. There is also Cesco in the area (John Deere) and several smaller operations like equiprent and united rentals.
