Well, you'll soon be adding a family of 6 to the conservative side. Keepin' Boise Boise. Sounds funny coming from a transplant, I know, but I spent quite a few fond years of my youth growing up in the area.

considering 30 percent of the state voted for obama and how the rest of the state votes... I think its safe to say that most of the 30 percent was in boise.. boise is 200k people in a metro of 600,000 and a state of 1.5million... do the math... to say boise metro is conservative.. perhaps.. BUT boise the city? hardly.. ada county was almost 50/50...and ada county is about 400k.. so.. there's your answer... boise is blue.. meridian eagle, kuna, and ickyville's are red naturally
*grin*

Boise is still very conservative and will be for a long time. I've lived in Seattle and all over California so I've seen what a liberal city looks like.

From one California family with the intent to move to Boise, we are not leaving because we can't afford it here - we can well afford it but don't want to stay. We are leaving because we are being driven out by militant liberals intolerant of views differing from theirs (i.e. Prop 8 and the backlash from that), the out of control spending on programs we don't agree with and don't want to pay for any longer (i.e. 16 billion annually on benefits for illegal aliens who are giving nothing back and shouldn't be here to begin with), and the fact that we are looking for more like-minded folks to hang out with. To that end, I must say that I think liberal in California vs. liberal in Boise is going to be quite different inasmuch as my feel when we visited was that the liberal thinkers in Boise seemed to be much more tolerant of other viewpoints - perhaps this is because they're still in the minority??? I'm hoping that the libs/conservatives co-exist a little better in Boise. Feedback?
By the way, yes, we don't want to be here when the music stops, which is going to be soon!!!

We left Southern California many years ago because the liberals and high cost of living drove us out. For those of you that are moving to Boise for similar reasons you will love it here. Most people are very conservative and church going folks. They love the simple things in life and are very family oriented. We are fortunate that we were able to raise out family here.

I still see this red/blue tint to all the posts so far... you all seem to forget the fact that roughly 1/3 of those "dang Idaho red-state-conservatives" would gladly vote for the best Libertarian candidate. Any of whom would suit the furthest left of the local lefties far better than these recent Republicans.
