Just visited Emmett
Yesterday we returned back to Central Calif from a week short visit to Emmett.
My wife found a few houses that she just loved and we were very comfortable in the town of Emmett. It already felt like home.
Found a great realtor Becky Stratton who made fun out of house hunting.
The weather was typical Idaho from warm to wind , rain and cold all in a few days.
The local people treated us great and my kids had a good time chowing down at the Artic Circle.
Peggy the barber on main street trimmed my doo and made me laugh.
Saw all kinds of houses from 60 years old with junk electrical systems on beautifull large properties with great trees . Heated with OIL ???
Saw a few near new ones with huge metal insulated shops and 5 acres of paradise.
Pheasants were jumping out of the bushes and a night the sky was perfect.
Now our house down here in Calif gets the for sale sign next weekend and we will see what happens next.
With some luck we will be there in time to get our kids in school for fall and see the last few races at Meridan Speedway.
1900 feet of fence could be my first project

So glad you enjoyed it here the weather has been typical spring.
Today it was beautiful and warm too. Were you here for the storms? The wind can get to blowing pretty hard here but you learn to deal with it don't leave umbrellas us and leave home etc
Hope you have bites on your home good luck.

Good luck, DR...hope you do better than I have in selling. My place has been listed for two months now and I have not even had one looker. Not one. Very depressing But I am not giving up...I will get to NID by hook or by crook!

Thank you Esselcue.
We do realize that the homes we saw this past week in Emmett might be gone by many months by the time this house sells.
We have no clue weather we will be gone in 2 months or 2 years.
This house here is unique with big property right in the city so it might go quick. If the prospective buyer sees it in November with a million pounds of leaves on the ground then were staying around till next spring.
It takes a hearty soul to actually clean and maintain big properties.
Today most people would not undertake a project like that. They want it done but they don't want to work .
We will see if anyone even comes to look at it.
I hope things truely are turning around...
My family belongs in Idaho.

Ryder, it's quite a heady feeling to finally go up and look for properties, isn't it? It makes the future feel real... And now you'll have a much better idea of whatever properties you see online, all the stated and unstated stuff! Good luck on the sale of your CA home. When we bought our home here in SoCal 10 years ago it was fall, and three big trees were dropping all their leaves in the front yard, but it didn't make any difference to us--we love trees (we don't hug them, though. Not too often, anyway). So maybe you'll find a buyer who doesn't mind the work, or doesn't mind paying someone else to do the work!
Happy Easter on this thread, too!

Dang Dez....now you make me want to add Emmett to our list when we go out looking next month. We plan to stay in the Boise area 2-3 weeks, so there will be plenty of time to see lots of the area.
Cheers,
Mac

Motomac
Emmett is the place. Plenty of country with the big city just over the hill.
Just enough of a downtown to call it home.
It has a hardware store and food store and a liquor store.
Oh ya I saw a place that sells bait.
That about covers it.
Anything else I need it even has UPS deliveries.
God's country.

Saw your comment on a place selling bait, and thought I'd share this photo. I took it in Troy (Montana) last summer on a motorcycle ride looping through there.
