What happened to the original Boise Aquarium thread? There was 11 or 12 pages of information. It was good reading.
So, it's past November 1, the time in which Ammon Covino stated that he would be able to announce a site of the Aquarium per Michael Deed's article. Where is the site?

The original thread devolved into little beyond ugliness. So...to those who post in this thread, word to the wise....play nice and avoid potentially libelous statements and ugly scuttlebutt. That's not what CDF is here for...

I joined City-Data Boise forum to see what was going on in our community. I want to know where is a good place to eat. Who is a good builder, Who is a good adviser, Who is a good real-estate agent, Etc. I believe City-Data Boise will help make this community stronger and wiser. I want to know if you had a bad experience with a local business. Tell us who the bad people are so we can protect family, friends and neighbors. [MOD CUT] This is a Community forum to help locals connect with people around us and share their stories. This forum is an excellent tool to discuss important topics and connect good people together to help make our city a better place.

See Sage's quote above..."The original thread devolved into little beyond ugliness. So...to those who post in this thread, word to the wise....play nice and avoid potentially libelous statements and ugly scuttlebutt. That's not what CDF is here for..."
Are we supposed to be using the forum like the Better Business Bureau? I guess it works up to a point. It's one thing to make a recommendation for a person or company, but quite another to slander it, especially if you can't give us any verifiable info to back it up.
I know that taking everything you read here with a grain of salt is always wisest and not at all bad for the blood pressure. :~) D

Censorship
Okay, it is true that the last thread "devolved" somewhat, however the majority of that thread was full of completely legitimate questions. Inquiries about where or what happened to the donated money. There was a lot promised. This thread, or should I say, the deleted thread was the only place people could get a response. Albeit ill thought out responses in some cases. You cannot get a legitimate response from the Boise Aquarium website, as that site is also heavily moderated. Why then could you not just delete the few "ugly" posts? Mainly that last page. There was sound info and ample facts, with plenty of resources to back them up. Good quality information about the "Aquarium" and who is behind it, that access too is very limited. So, deleting that thread is a bit upsetting. Yes, it did get a bit out of hand, but to delete a wealth of information due to a few "libelous and ugly" comments seems a bit over the top.

Here is the problem...
Information about the Aquarium that is based on speculation, personal opinion, and rumor does not belong here on CDF. If you read the Terms of Service, that is clear. Too many people with agendas start posting, and things are better off gone, period.
I'm not sure if you're unclear, but CDF is not a sub-chapter of "60 Minutes". We're not interested in investigative reporting which always seems to have a slant. We're not interested if you think people are crooked. We're only interested in what is proven, and if that is simply a bunch of people arguing about whose facts are more correct, it STILL doesn't belong here.
A quick note on "Censorship" since that was the title of your post...Wikipedia says it is "the suppression of speech or deletion of communicative material which may be considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, or inconvenient to the government or media organizations as determined by a censor."
This is a privately owned forum, and you are given posting privileges to enter and post at our discretion. As such, you have agreed to our terms of service and to be moderated (censored) as we see fit. Please let me know if you have further questions in this regard.

Tunnels, I found this on the Boise Aquarium forum, it is a reply from Ammon Covino:
"Re: Season passes « Reply #5 on Mar 5, 2008, 7:43am » Yes. if for any reason people want their money back they will get a full refund. of the nearly 300 season passes we have sold we have had 1 ask for a refund."

I have included a link to that thread as well. Hope this helps her get her money back. I know a lot of people are trying to get refunds!

DEENA160,
You should go buy a season pass to the Boise Aquarium. I hear it's going to be built soon
