It's a ten hour drive. It's long.

I did the plane trip today. It's an hour drive to Spokane, and hour or two to get through security and wait for your flight, then an hour in the air. Go early, Spokane/Boise flights sell out frequently (my flight tonight was full).

Rent a car through Costco, it's pretty convenient to pick up at the Boise airport.

If you book far enough in advance or get a good price for last minute fares via Priceline, for a single person, I would fly. If there are several people traveling, the cost benefits or driving start to make more sense and you have people to talk to and share the drive. When I drive, I will go one way and come back another for a change of scenery. If you can take time to drive and stop and enjoy some of the sites along the way it is great.
