klio is on a distinguished road
Hi, just an FYI. Eugene/Corvallis is known for some of the worst air quality for allergy prone people in the nation. It has an inversion and the agricultural area does a lot of burning so at times the air is quite smokey. We serious looked to relocate in this area- but this was one of the reasons we crossed it off our list. Also Eugene can get a bit edgy, there is a strong counter culture which is tied to drugs (meth). It seems a difficult town to raise a teenager. Not to knock Oregon, but the recession has hit the state hard. Unemployment is high (12%) and Eugene is at 14%. With your list- Boise seems a better spot. Good luck!

I would not recommend Salt Lake to anyone, even if they currently have a lower unemployment rate . Foreclosures in the SL area are skyrocketing and people there gripe about the plethora of low paying jobs compared to the cost of living. Besides the quality of life there is not as good as it is here in Boise.
Oregon and Washington, Portland and Seattle have been hit harder than most with the recession but the Northwest as a whole, including Idaho, is supposed to pull out of the recession sooner than other areas.
Lets hope
