Default What about Retail?

I have been looking on here and see where people are saying don't start a career in Boise. Well I am looking to work a part time retail job in Boise. Are these type of jobs still available in the Treasure Valley?

I have been looking for 8 months, no luck. Too many retail establishments going out of business, and not enough new ones opening, causing a overload of job applicants.

Don't start a career??? Or do you mean that in the current economy there are not a lot of career jobs to snag?
Most of the retail I have seen close up in Boise are some of the national chain stores that have closed up all over the nation or the region.
There are new retail stores and restaurants opening up in downtown, Hobby Lobby is opening a 55,000 SF store in Meridian and construction is starting this month, not sure how long it will take to build.

Maybe I didnt word it right. I just meant I had read on this website people saying it was very hard to come out of college into their chosen career. I am guessing they mean the jobs that are based on their education are hard to come by. I am a grandma and just looking for some retail work. I know alot of the posters have to have an income to support themselves so hadnt seen anything about retail work on here. Thanks for the info about Hobby Lobby. I went to one in Missouri once and it was a crafters dream!
