Default Island Woods

Does anyone know if there is a bridge across the river from Island Woods into Reid Merril park or do you have to walk across 55/Eagle Road? Is that possible by foot or is it super busy? Thanks!

There is not a bridge from IW to Merrill Park.
The walk on Eagle road would not be a good one as there is no true sidewalk from the Island Woods entrance to the bridge over the river.

I agree with the above. In addition, I wouldn't buy a home in IW soley on the fact that it's so close to the Boise River. It's a river. It floods from time to time. The home quality or price won't prevent it. Nobody with a brain cell has much sympathy when it happens. There are equally nice homes at equal prices in areas of town that down flood every few years.

A foot bridge was put in this summer. It connects to the greenbelt right behind Merrill Park. I haven't been there since it opened, so I am not sure where it goes on the Island Woods side.

If you are looking to buy, I want to echo the post a few before me. You have to pay for flood insurance in Island Woods, and our realtor told us there has been at least one time it did flood. I would be very careful over there, even though it is a nice subdivision.
