Default Job Situation

I have noticed several comments on this site from people who said it took over a year to get a "good" job. We are considering a move from Denver and I was curious if education has factored into people's difficulties or successes in finding a job. I have an MBA and Master in Real Estate/Construction Management and was hoping this would make it easier to find one of these "good" jobs. Is the true? Thanks is advance.

We both have higher Ed degrees.
It didn't really help too much. It certainly helped in the ability to qualify for certain jobs, however there aren't that many higher end jobs available. If you do qualify there will likely be a line of candidates along side of you that also apply. The key here is getting the interview and then more importantly nailing it.

If you can make your self shine above other candidates and be flexible on terms / compensation package ... you may land something good.

I take that back ... the true key in landing a job here is persistence
Be prepared for many no thank you's and don't let them steer you off course.
I know that may be too rosy a picture for some, but I honestly believe if you keep up the search something will hit.

A degree certainly will help, more than hurt your chances. As long as you don't fall into the "over qualified" trap that we fell into several times.
Confidence with the right degree of modesty will go a long way in a job interview.

Lastly, do your search while you still have a job. I do not recommend anyone move here with out a job in hand or a LOT of money in the bank.
It may take you a long time to land something.

Good luck and happy hunting
