Boise and the outlying areas are all in very bad condition. The problem with the Treasure Valley in general is the relatively small metropolitan job market. They experienced a boom in the last 10 years that really has gone downhill. Too many houses were built (especially in Eagle and Meridian) and the job market was never as synthetically prosperous as in the last 10 years. I live about 60 miles from Boise. I left for Phoenix, AZ when the job prospects went virtually dry back in 2005. Of course, Phoenix was hit extremely hard by all this and I had to move back.

My advice: Stay where you are at unless you have a job prospect out here. You will not find a job off the bat.
