Default Boise Real Estate Market

Hows the real estate market doing in Boise area?

I see a lot of higher end homes on the market but dont know what it was like years ago so have no way to compare how things are now versus back then.

Have prices tanked there like many other places?

Im looking at some homes in the hills...on outskirts of town...

I noticed many dont have pools...I wonder if it has to do with mosquitoes or some regulation?

Thanks for any input.

Lots of higher priced homes on the market because no one here can afford them.

Yes, prices have tanked like many other areas

The lack of pools has to do with the fact that there is a relatively short pool season here (usually May to September) and the hassle of cleaning and winterizing them. So unless you get one of the few exceptional houses with an indoor pool (yes, there are a couple of them floating around) many consider them to be more hassle than they are worth.

Bought my house for $50,00 less than asking 2 years ago; sold it for $87,00 less than what I paid for it. Fortunately my relocation covered my loss. To say the market is in the toilet is an understatement. There are houses in Two Rivers (Eagle) going for $400,000 less than what they were going for a year ago.
