Yep, Comcast is available in small Preston, but it's Salt Lake City Comcast and does not carry any Idaho channels.

I'd highly recommend boycotting Cable One and getting satellite. The thing about Cable One is, like someone already said: they have a monopoly here, thus they pretty much do what they want and feel no need for competitive pricing. For example, during this time of recession, all the dish networks are offering special deals, like a few months free, or a premium channel like HBO for a dollar a month. What does Cable One do? Raise their rates. Their hidden fees are laughable as well. I was signed-up for a $36 a month "special" but when I got my bill it was $42, due to the rate hike and the hidden charge for the low channels which they never mentioned.

I concur. I used to live in central Washington and their basic cable package offered more channels and cost a whopping $25 per month. For a more stripped down version in the treasure valley cable one proudly offers a less comprehensive package for about $40-$45 a month. That and people get sucked up into the whole "bundle and save" scheme (Qwest is just as guilty in this respect). Really all it is for most people is paying extra for services they really don't need.

As mentioned above your options here in the treasure valley are Cable One or Satellite. That's it. AT&T was bought out by Cable One here several years ago.
